There are certain things that you should not do if you want to win friends and influence people, or not piss off your neighbors. One of those things is plyometric aerobics at 11pm. Sadly, my schedule has been so hectic these days that late night exercise is sometimes the only opportunity I have for getting physical. Sorry dudes that live downstairs.
If there is one thing my little appetite reduction phase has re-instilled in me, it is the importance of nutrient dense foods. Back in the dizzay, when I was working 20 hour days and being all sorts of fabulous, I really ate with an eye toward endurance. Whether or not something would keep me fueled for a long period of time was always in the forefront of my mind when I chose my daily eats. These days, because my body seems to be revolting against food that doesn’t come in liquid form, I’ve really been focused on making sure the foods I eat will pack some sort of nutritional punch. While I’m psyched that my appetite seems to be coming back slightly, I have to say that I really appreciate the reminder that this little phase has given me: Food is fuel, and at times needs to be adjusted to accommodate your lifestyle. Since lifestyles change, so should your eating focus.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some neighbors to annoy…
Morning juice: celery, carrots, celery, lemon, blackberries, and apple
Veggie burger with avocado and egg, topped with hot sauce (Love this combo)
I’m finding smoothies a great way to up my caloric intake for the day, this one’s my favorite:
Almond milk, peanut butter, banana, chocolate protein powder, wheat germ, ground flax seed
