Yup, I bought it…
It’s been a crazy week. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work.
And a little play, I did get myself a little present:
No, it’s not the candy apple red one I’ve been drooling over, but I couldn’t pass up this offer up.
A friend of mine, a very special, lovely, super-duper smart friend happens to be a member of the American Bar Association, and through said Bar Association gets random discounts on appliances. Who knew there were such perks involved with the legal profession? This particular model runs around $400, but with my friends discount I got it for $196!
Is it tacky to announce how much you pay for stuff?
I just couldn’t not get it at that price…even if it is boring old white. I’ve comforted myself in this circumstance by telling myself that my kitchen may not always be decorated with red things and white goes with everything. Oh, and did I mention it was a really good deal.
I may not have saved up the entire amount, but luckily I have a very nice mommy who said she would contribute to my almost obsessive need to mix things into ooey-gooey submission.
Now, who wants some cookies?
Here’s a recap of the last couple of days, it’s not my finest eating hour:
Wednesday Breakfast
Oatmeal w/almond butter & banana
Coffee w/soy milk
Wednesday Lunch
Leftovers: Chicken, broccoli, carrot, and brown rice
Wednesday Dinner
Curtis this one is for you. Some people always have milk and eggs in the fridge, I always have udon noodles, bok choy and shrimp.
Thursday Breakfast
Whole wheat English muffin w/black cherry preserves
Coffee w/soy milk
Thursday Snack
Banana
Thursday Lunch
Whole Foods Italian Hoagie (so unlike me)
Thursday Dinner
This was solely a meal of “what the heck do I have in the freezer?”
Chicken sausage, broccoli, and white rice
I need to go grocery shopping…obviously.
Kim

YAY! I am so happy for you and your new arrival
I know you had your heart set on red, but really, white is CLASSIC. You just can’t go wrong. I can’t wait to see all the wonderful things you whip up with that baby!

Ooh, congratulations and welcome to the KitchenAid mixer club.
You’ll love it just as much as you think you will, and maybe a little bit more. Just use that baby to whip egg whites (or cream) and you’ll see what I mean!

Hooray for the mixer! Congrats! White is nice and classic and at that kind of deal, well, you really couldn’t pass it up. And hooray for the Curtis shout out!

Here’s what I know about it Kate: it’s called the VIPLink Program. I logged into the site: http://www.partners.whirlpool.com with her Username and Password and bought a mixer. I have no idea about the magical ways in which she was invited to register with this site, but she said it was “through the Bar Association” so I’m assuming they sent out an email or something. I’ll inquire further next time I see her.

Envy, thy name is Hot Mother. I’ve been longing for one of those things for two decades now. ‘scuse me whilst I go in the corner and weep.
Okay, all better. Congratulations!
And just to set the record straight: it’s tacky to brag about spending a lot of money (e.g.; “Wiltman, look at my new $30 Million yacht”); it’s perfectly acceptable to boast about how *little* you were able to spend (like your mixer).
