Sorry, I’m a couple of days late with this. We’ve had a busy few days, between more house hunting and Inez coming down with the puppy equivalent of chicken pox things have been a bit harried. Long story short, she’s in quarantine from other dogs for the next couple of MONTHS! This is a huge problem for me, because she likes to sit next to me while I’m working and bark for hours on end, this is why I pay a ridiculous amount of money to send her to doggy daycare. I’m going to have to make the best of the situation, but I’m not happy about it.
That brings me back to my February resolutions…
Resolution #1 is to establish a new routine. One that includes working from home more (as opposed to the library) to walk my dog. I may designate mornings to café work, and spend the rest of the afternoon working from home. I’ve got a lot of work to do on my next book and I’m not as far along in the process as I should be at this stage. It’s been one of those years where anything that could happen does, and we’ve had a lot of fires to put out.
Resolution #2: Work, work, work, work, work, work, work.
Yeah, that’s pretty much the theme of the month.
Resolution #3: Keep my gym routine going. It’s very easy to forgo exercise when the pressure of a deadline is looming, but since most of my day is spent sitting and staring at a computer I need to get at least an hour of exercise a day to counter the ill-effects of computer work.
Resolution #4: Take care of my health. I just found out I have some eye issues that need taking care of. My mom started losing her vision when I was still in grade school, and I’m petrified of going through the same. There are certain things I can’t prevent, but I’m doing everything I can now to prevent what’s preventable, but I’ll probably spend a decent amount of time in a retinal specialists office over the next few months. Bummer, but it’s life. At least I live in a time when people are trained to help with these sorts of things.
