Don’t say I’m not dedicated to starting 2014 on the right foot. I braved the great outdoors to hit a not-so-early morning spin class, and an afternoon Bikram yoga class today. I’m relatively sure the spin instructor was hung-over, as was half of the class, but we dedicated few were there starting the year off with sweat.
We may have been the only brave souls braving the gym on January 1st as evidenced by the cardio section.
The Fella has been battling a stomach flu, so our New Year’s was pretty tame. We made an appearance at a party before his tummy troubles got the better of him, so we spent the last few minutes of 2013 curled up in bed. If that’s indicative of the year to come, I’m pretty cool with that. Let 2014 be the year of cuddling!
In addition to our individual New Year’s resolutions, The Fella and I made a few couples resolutions. One being to do the dishes before we go to bed every night. I have a confession, I hate doing dishes. I will sweep, and mop, and organize, and dust, and scrub the bathtub and toilet—but I really loathe doing dishes. The next apartment we move to will have a dishwasher, but in the meantime we need to be better about scrubbing our plates before bed.
On a funner (that’s a word now) note, we also resolved to have one in-house date night per week (Fridays). Homemade romantic dinner, a little Wii playing, board games, and Netlfix. Bonding without spending money. What will we think of next?
While I’m kind of sad to see 2013 go, it was by far one of the best years of my life, I am pretty excited by the prospect of rocking this new year. It’s like the first day of school when the teacher tells you that at this point in time you have a 100/4.0 average, and all you have to do is maintain it. Less than 24-hours in, and I am a 2014 rock star. The Fella, well he gets a reprieve until he’s feeling better.
