Let me start off my saying:

Does anyone want to win a copy of my book?

Amazon is hosting a giveaway on Goodreads, which means that 20 people will be the proud owner of a copy of Coming Clean for free!  You can enter here (<— them there words are linked to the giveaway) or head over to the sidebar and use the link there.

Now that we’ve got that out of the way, on to day two of meal delivery.

If you were going to do The Fresh Diet, and I were to give you one bit of advice, it would be to ditch your microwave.  Every day’s food comes with a microwaving key, most meals are ready to eat between 30 seconds and two minutes. Don’t do it.  Break out your toaster oven, skillet, or broiler and you will feel much less diet-y.

Food just doesn’t taste good from the microwave—in my humble opinion.  There’s no crunch, no texture.  Taking a few extra minutes to actually cook your food and plate it (as opposed to eating it from the plastic cartons it comes in) will make a huge difference.

I know this, because last year when I tried a week of TFD I was uber busy, and loved the zero dish doing option of eating out of the carton, but felt like I was eating Lean Cuisines all day.

I actually feel like a moderately civilized human being this go around.  Plates are good.  Plates are classy.

Be classy.

I will admit that I’ve been a bit hungry, the portions are much smaller than I’m used to, I’m a bulk eater, but I’m hoping I acclimate to “real” serving sizes soon.  I did sneak a few bites of The Fella’s dessert of frozen pineapple and frozen mango.  It’s fruit, so as far as cheating goes my guilt level is pretty low.

Tonight I’m looking forward to one those long June days, since my work days end relatively late, I’m hoping I get home while the sun is still out and get to take a run in Riverside Park while it’s still light out.  I have my next TNT training run on Saturday morning, and I’m going to aim to not die.  I like attainable goals.
