I ate my birthday.

It was delicious.

For the record: I love my birthday. It’s my favorite holiday. I just wish it weren’t two days before Christmas.

Way to go on the family planning, Mom & Dad!

Actually, I can’t blame them. I was supposed to be born in March; I’m just perpetually early for everything. The good thing about sharing your birthday week with the J-man is that the world gets dressed up. There are lights, and sales, and people are all sorts of nice…and there are cookies. It’s actually not such a bad deal. Plus, growing up I never had school on my birthday.

The Fella started the celebration early. As soon as the clock struck 12:01am he gave me my b-day presents. Zumba!

I love Zumba, but I can’t always make it to a class—this is perfect. Last year for my birthday friends bought me a Wii, this year I’m adding to my repertoire! I almost blew off the rest of my birthday plans to go home and dance in my living room, but decided that the Zumba-ing could wait a few more hours.

After a few hours of sleep, I dragged him to two of my favorite spots in the city. Brunch at Sarabeth’s and the Museum of Natural History.

Coffee is my favorite food.

My dining companion wasn’t too bad, either.

I was so excited to eat, I forgot to take a picture until I was done annihilating it all.
This used to be a vegetable omelet with cheddar cheese, a banana muffin, and the whole grain toast with the best raspberry jam on the planet.

Now it’s time for the fun stuff…

DIORAMAS!!!!!

I <3 the American Museum of Natural History

I love dinosaurs!

Maybe I love dinosaurs a little too much.

Happiest dead turtle ever!

I’ve named this guy the prehistoric satanic cat turtle.
He’s kinda cute, you know if you look past the whole evil horns thing.

I’m also a big fan of souvenir shops. It’s basically dress-up for grown-ups.

Eventually we had to leave the museum. There were things to be eaten, friends to be partied with.

Jacques Torres is rumored to have the best chocolate chip cookies on earth. Since I can’t normally justify eating a cookie the size of my head, I figured the ole b-day was a good excuse.

The rumors were not wrong.

We gave our stomachs a few hours of rest, then met up with two of my besties for dinner at Rosa Mexicano. Pomegranate margaritas and guacamole is where it’s at.

The guacamole guy was super telegenic!

And the man can make a mean guacamole!

I ate it by the spoonful.

There were also some yummy vegetable tacos to be ingested

My newlywed besties. So cute!

The Fella I were trying to be as adorable, but it didn’t work.

I dragged them to Max Brenner after dinner for some serious chocolate indulging.

There was many much fondue and some milkshake to wash it down with

By the time we got home we were so full it hurt. It was worth it.

Merry Christmas to you all. I hope your holiday is happy, healthy, and delicious.
