I’m on my way out to Long Island to spend the weekend bridesmaid dress shopping.
Based on the line we’re choosing from, these are the dresses I like the best from the website:
I like the high waist of the first one, the ruching of the second, and the fact that I wouldn’t have to keep pulling up my top all night in regard to the third. Of course, they may all look atrocious on me, so I’m going to go in with an open mind. I might take pictures to share here. In the meantime, feel free to chime in on a favorite, especially if you have sage bridesmaid advice!
When my best friend and I were in high school we used to go into the fancy dress shops on Main Street (every Podunk town has a Main Street littered with bored high school students, right?) and pretend we were preparing to go to some super fancy dance or party, then try on gown after gown. When we were done trying on every dress in the store we’d leave with an empty promise to the shop keepers to come back with our parents, then hit up the pizza place. Umpteen years later we’re headed back to the same Main Street dress shops, only this time I have a credit card and actually have to buy something. It just feels unnatural. Maybe I’ll pretend I’m going to Homecoming just for old time’s sake.
I’m totally having one of those nostalgia induced ‘aww’ moments. It amazes me how much things have changed since those loitering days and yet besides having slightly more common sense she’s still the girl I used to annoy shop keepers with.
Whole wheat English muffin, egg, veggie sausage, and lite cheese
Broccoli and tofu with teriyaki sauce over brown rice
Exercise: 45-spin class.
Have you been a bridesmaid? Had a bridesmaid? Any important advice to share with a newbie?
