Back in December, my birthday to be exact, Organic Avenue offered up a Groupon for a 3-day LOVE deep juice cleanse.  Those crafty folks at Groupon sure know their timing.  At the end of December I’m generally ready to give up eating for the New Year because I’m so full of those rich holiday foods.

I think I got caught up in the craze of holiday spending, because I can’t for the life of me remember why I thought it would be an awesometastic idea to spend $120 on juice.  But as far as this juice goes it was a monumentally good deal.  If you order this particular cleanse from the Organic Avenue website it goes for $250 with an added $42 tacked on for bottle deposits.  That’s basically $300 for juice.  Some people just have more money than they know what to do with.  I want to know what those people majored in in college.

Anyhoo, today was day one and holy caffeine headache.  I’ve never been particularly concerned about my caffeine dependence.  I figure I could be addicted to a lot worse things than lattes.  I just say no to drugs and just say yes to a nice French pressed java.  But for the next few days I’m solid food and caffeine free.

The 3-day cleanse consists of seven juices a day (one comes in shot form) all cold pressed, organic, and vegan.  The majority are made from leafy greens.  I’ll be doing a full review of the cleanse in video form so I won’t get too into the details now.

At the end of day I will say this: I am hungry and my head hurts.  I took a nap mid day either because I was tired, my headache was pounding,  or because I was cranky.  Or all of the above. I’ve read other reviews of these types of cleanses and they say that the first day is the worst but it gets better and at the end you feel all shiny, new, clear headed, and optimistic.  Here’s looking forward to day two!
