Reasons I love Friday:

  1. I leave work at 2pm.  One of the perks of working at a Jewish non-profit. That and the ridiculous amount of holidays I get off.
  2. Leaving early gives me time to meet up with my gorgeous friend Sarah who just happened to be featured, along with her pink pin-up bathroom, in the New York Times.  We haven’t had one of our girly gab sessions since before the holidays.  Such a perfect way to wrap up the work week and start the weekend.  Did I mention there was delicious cinnamon soy cocoa to sip on?
  3. “I’m made of Cotton Candy!”  I may have shouted this last night as I won my third consecutive game of shuffle board.  Post cocoa I hit up the West Village game bar ‘Fat Cat’ for live oldies music and a few hours of shuffle board with two of my favorite couples. Note to self: No dinner means a quite tipsy Kim after one beer.  Two beers and your friends start saying things like, “If you smile any more your face will crack in half.”  In the future I’ll bring snacks.
  4. I don’t have to wake up at 4am the next day which means I can roll around in my comforter all Saturday morning and revel in the fact that there’s still so much weekend to be had!

I love Fridays.

Breakfast

Strawberry pancakes.  Not a bad way to start the day.

Lunch

Homemade yogurt with strawberries and granola

Dinner

Soy cinnamon cocoa.  To die for, but not really a nutritious dinner.

Blue Point Lager, representing my Long Island roots.

Does shuffle board count toward my daily exercise?

Happy Weekend!
