Remember how last week I was SUPER excited about doing a handstand?  In the last week I’ve done four.  All assisted of course, but that’s definitely a vast improvement from none.  Last night however, my arms were sore and tired and I almost fell on my head when I attempted another go at it.  Maybe it’s best not to push these things.

I had an amazing, and indulgent weekend.  Friday I did something I have never done before, and might not ever do again.  I had someone in to clean my apartment.  A friend of mine told me about a local women’s coop that basically sell one anothers services and each woman keeps the money she makes from the jobs she performs.  I have been insanely busy, and while I’ve been “neat” I haven’t necessarily had time to really scrubadubdub my apartment so I gave Maria a call.  This woman was made of magic and unicorns and all things PineSol.  But, she requested I not leave my apartment while she worked, which meant I was sort of secluded to my desk working, but also feeling incredibly lazy for not being the person cleaning.  It was a little awkward, but in the end my apartment has never been this clean.  She even cleaned the box that I put my cleaning supplies in–now that’s clean!  It was well worth the money.  But while it was meant to be a little treat for me, I think it just made me feel a bit lazy.

Next up on my Friday night was an impromptu private yoga class.  It was private because no one else showed up.  And because no one else showed up, basically we got to focus on what I wanted to focus on which was of course HANDSTANDS.  It was amazing and soothing, and a perfect way to end a busy week.

Saturday I started the day with a spin class, the headed over to some visit some friends for a dinner of homemade Cuban sandwiches, tostones, sangria, too many shots of tequila, and cannolis.  I brought a feta-watermelon salad, trying to hold up the healthy front.

The next day I dragged my hungover self back to yoga where I did a shoulderstand, and then out for a run.

Doesn’t that just sound like the best weekend ever?  Inversions and tequila, who could ask for anything more?

Now I’m back to the daily grind and while many of my friends are lamenting the heat, I for one am soaking up the warmth of the sun.  I love hot weather.  As far as I’m concerned it can never be too hot.
