First of all, have you all grilled fennel before?

Oh my, it’s really good.  It took me a while to get on the fennel bandwagon because I’m not a huge fan of licorice, and well it’s got that same anise flavor, but I have to say the veg is growing on me.

So far I’d only been chopping it up for salads, but last night, inspired by all things Giada, I decided to get fancy and grill this bad boy up with some olive oil and good ole S&P.  I am a total convert, the grilling really brings out the sweetness of the veggie, and actually dilutes the licorice taste.

Consider yourself informed: grilled fennel is amazing.  Consider me mad at you if you already knew this and didn’t tell me.

In other news, tonight is my first improv show in a while.  I’ve been trying to slowly get back into comedic performing by taking classes.  Tonight is my class show.  I’m a little nervous.  I used to perform weekly, but I’ve felt so rusty lately.  I hope it turns out well.  I’ll keep you posted.
