Time to catch up on the ole blogaroo!

Today is my day off which of course means that I’ve been up since before dawn running around being a crazy person.  Yesterday I  had a mini meltdown as I sat at my desk at work, crying (literally) over my woefully busy life, that I totally create for myself so I have no one to blame but myself.

Yes, you should obviously feel super sorry for me.  I’m much better today, I just needed to get it all out of my system, call my mom and have her tell me everything would be fine.  Which it is, I’m way too high strung.  But, I do need to take a step back and pare down my priorities a bit.  One of these days, and I’m hoping it’s soon, I will learn how to say “no.”  I wonder if there are classes I can take for that?

So, in the wee hours of the morning my alarm went off and I got myself ready to hit up my bootcamp class on the Brooklyn Bridge. The instructor totally looked like Billy Bob Thornton.  That class is killer! Seriously, I can usually hold my own, but I was a total weeny. I’m going to go back again next week, there’s nothing I like more than a challenge.  I did burn over 700 calories before 8am though, that’s got to be good for something.

Afterward I took a cab to a doctors appointment with perhaps the most friendly cab driver ever.  His name is Roger and he has a 7 year old daughter he calls his princess, and a 14 year old son who is very busy and hangs out with a lot of girls.  Roger seemed like a very doting dad, and he lives in my neighborhood.  Maybe we’ll hang out (kidding).

As you might remember I took my very first physical exam last week, and today we followed up on my blood work.  I’m happy to report that I have the best cholesterol ever!  My new most favoritist doctor said I should just keep on living my lifestyle as is because I’m an A+ cholesterol test taker.  The majority of my blood work came back awesome.  I do have two vitamin deficiencies, ugh.  Vitamin D, and Vitamin B12.  For vitamin D the good doctor suggested spending more time outdoors, and eating dairy.  I was fascinated to know that my shortage on Vitamin B12 could be a possible reason I’ve been so tired lately.  He suggested I eat more meat and come back in a few months to re-check my levels.  If being carnivorous doesn’t work out he’ll give me a B12 shot.  I was totally fascinated by this whole process.

Post blood evaluating I walked to Soho to meet with the powers that be at Social Workout, then went back up town for a voice lesson.  In between however I stopped and grabbed an impromptu lunch at Fairway (the best grocery store ever).  After my voice lesson I walked back down to Union Square to meet a friend with coffee.

So far today I’ve had a boot camp, a 5 mile walk, and I’m hitting up a yoga class tonight with a friend.  I should sleep like a baby tonight!

Salad with apple, walnut, dried cranberries, carrot, chickpeas, arugala, and lemon vinaigrette

Hummus and baby carrots

I have class on Thursday nights which means and trail mix for dinner

Smoothie with almond milk, banana, mango, raspberries, and protein powder

Lunch

Yogurt, apple, peanut butter

Dinner

Who knows, but it’s bound to be a busy night so I figured I’d get my blogging in while I had the chance.
