Going to work this morning almost felt like punishment for having such an amazing weekend.

First, let’s give some props to the dental hygiene gods.  As part of last month’s resolutions, I made an appointment for a long overdue dental check up. No caveties, and now my teeth are quite literally squeeky clean.

Once my teeth were polished, it was time to party.  One of my dearest friends got married this weekend in the Hamptons, which is usually known as a upscale vacation town, but to her it’s where she grew up.

A friend of her family just happened to have a house they don’t use.  Let me repeat that, THEY HAVE A HOUSE THEY DON’T USE.  A four bedroom house on a now defunct horse farm.  It was beautiful…and creepy.  Everything in the house was really old, and well, abandoned.  My friends and I arrived close to midnight, had a few beers, then proceeded to talk about every horror movie ever made.  Needless to say none of us slept that night.  We freaked ourselves out too much!

The next day was the wedding.  It was on the beach and it was just beautiful.  As soon as I saw my friend walking down the aisle I burst into tears.  I can’t help it, I’m a total softy (don’t tell anyone).  Post beach nuptuals we headed to the reception for some dancing and fire extinguishing.

Oh yeah, I put out a fire.   A tiki torch somehow caught fire, and before it got to the very dry grass below I got a fire extinguisher.  This is probably the least flattering picture of me ever, but hey it’s still kind a cool, even though I look seriously worried/pissed off:

I was feeling very introspective

Sunday the bride’s family hosted a BBQ at their house and it was amazing!  Steak, chicken, pork chops, yuca–no hamburgers and hot dogs for these folks.  There was even a mariachi band!

Even my parents joined in the festivities:

I swear I’m not hanging out with my dad naked–it was a strapless dress.

All in all, an amazing 72-hours!

Now for today:

A fairly normal day for me: early mornings, work, grocery shopping and yoga–and, no secret gummy worm binges 😉
