You know what’s funny, people.  People are funny.  People wanting to mate with other people are the funniest.

Last night, I went to a party my friend hosted, the party was a dating party where people bring a friend of the opposite sex and they pimp each other out all night.  I’m not currently in the market for someone to spend my life with, so I was basically just helping people mingle, checking people in at the door, and trying to sell raffle tickets.  As an outsider looking in it was kind of an amazing phenomenon.  All of these people paid $35 to come to this shindig, basically just to hit on people.  And hit on they did.  There was even a reporter from the Wall Street Journal there writing a story about the event, and let me tell you, that place was packed.

While times have changed in this world, I think one thing remains the same, people want to be loved, and they want to love, and as cynical as the world can seem sometimes, it’s kind of sweet and refreshing to see so many people really wanting to find someone.

Maybe I’m just in a lovey dovey mood lately because everywhere I turn my friends are getting engaged, and having babies, but I sort of think it’s sweet that coupling up is still a priority in the world.  It’s not my priority, at least not right now, but one day it probably will be, and I’m glad to know that when it is, it won’t feel like an antiquated goal.

Besides encouraging the masses to mate, I spent my day yesterday reading, running, and dropping off my most favoritist purse to a cobbler for repair (one of my May Resolutions).  I love vacation days; easy-peasy, self indulgent days.

Here’s what I ate:

Nonfat Greek yogurt with banana, honey, granola

Hard boiled egg

Stir fry with broccoli, onion, peppers, tofu & Trader Joe’s General Tso’s sauce, brown rice
