Here’s the deal: if everyday were the weekend life would be awesome.  I had another absolutely divine weekend.  Friday, was all about indulgence (and I didn’t blog, but I’ll post pics below), I leave work at 2pm on Fridays and went immediately to get my tootsies taken care of.  It’s sometimes sandle season in my neck of the woods (It’s 40 degrees today, but over the weekend it was in the high 70s) and it was time for a pedicure.  I love bright colors, they’re like insta-prozac for me, and so I chose the absolute brightest color the salon had.  The woman doing my toes said “are you sure you like this?”  Then she painted one toe, and checked in with me again to see if I was still committed to having florescent feet. Yeah, it’s that bright.  Afterward, I treated myself to a cheeseburger and fries (with real meat!) at Five Guys, while reading a trashy novel.  Have you guys read the Sookie Stackhouse/Tru Blood books?  So good, so dirty 🙂

It was heaven.

I spent the rest of the night kicking back and reading all about Sookie and Bill, grrrarr!

Saturday, I started out singing…literally.  I went to a voice lesson, and then met a friend at SELF Magazine’s Workout in the Park.  Afterward some friends came to visit, fixed my computer, and afterward we went to the coolest bar on the planet. I happen to think it is owned by the Russian mob, but that’s okay by me because they have amazing homemade sausage, kraut, and beers from all over the world.

Sunday, was technically Mother’s Day (Hi, Mom!), but I abandoned my mom in lieu of my dad.  (Sorry, Mom!) It was a total accident, but I bought theatre tickets without checking the date, so we’ve officially decided to swap Mother’s and Father’s Days this year in the Miller family.  My dad came into the city and we had lunch, and hit up the Palace Theatre to see West Side Story. My dad is adorable, he kept snapping along with the Jets.  Afterward we hit up Junior’s for some New York Cheesecake.  It was not a figure flattering weekend, but it was wonderful on so many other levels.

I’m back to the daily grind today, but I’m keeping true to my resolution to pamper myself.  I took a long walk after work and got a manicure before yoga.  Then I stretched the night away.  Life is good.
