Has anyone else upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7? Has it created any issues with your computer?
Before we broke up, Achilles bought me Windows 7, it was very nice of him, but the upgrade has never ceased wreaking havoc with my computer–and ever since it’s a crap shoot as to whether or not it will load my pictures, turn off, play music, or any other number of vital functions. It kind of sucks. I have a friend who is computer genius, I’m plotting for him to come take a look at it next weekend. I have a relatively new computer, and this is driving me nuts–having said that, that’s why there was no blog for Wednesday/Thursday, my computer was being temperamental.
Last night I did something I really needed to do, I took an improv class. I have two friends, one a stand-up, one an event producer/actress, who have offered me spots performing stand-up in their shows recently. So far I’ve said no, and let me tell you, that is very unlike me. I just don’t say “no”, I’m of the school of “just say yes to life, and figure it out later.” I guess I’ve felt a little out of the comedy scene for a while now, it’s time to dust off my mad-funny skills. So, I plunked down some cash and dedicated the next two months worth of Thursdays to a new improv class.
It felt so good.
I was rusty, but it was good to get my brain working in that way again. It’s part of my newly written 5-year plan to get back on stage in both a group setting (i.e. sketch, improv), and solo with a stand-up routine. The plan is written, now it’s time to get started. I’m glad I took the leap…I really needed it.
Coincidence, both the instructor and one of my fellow students went to my college. None of us were the same year, but it’s very rare that I meet fellow Emersonians, so that was exciting.
