I miss the days of mid-day workouts.  The gym was mine, all mine…muahahahaha

Now, not so much.  I really hate rush hour at the gym.  My plan for the day was to run and strength train at the gym.  My reality was similar, but different.  There was only one cardio machine open by the time I got to the gym after work, an elliptical machine.  I was actually kind of surprised at how good the workout was.

The weight room on the other hand was jam packed and on principal I really detest doing laps in the weight room hoping to jump in when someone’s ready to take a breather.  It’s all just too stressful for me.  I workout to relieve stress, not create it.  I headed home instead.  But, I didn’t skim on the strength training.  I popped in a strength training DVD and did that.

I’m struggling with my new work schedules impact on my ability to workout.  I guess I’m a little high maintenance in my gym going preferences.  If I can’t go in the middle of the day, I’d prefer to go in the morning, but since I work in the morning, I’m left with night, and night is when the gym explodes.   As New Years approaches, and resolutioners loom closer, I have a feeling I’ll be relying on my home workout arsenal a lot more.  I’m determined to make this work even if it means becoming BFFs with Denise Austin, but I’m declaring right here and now that I don’t like it.  So there.

Egg white omelet with tomato and lite Cheddar cheese
Salad with beets, oranges and almonds.  Tossed with balsamic vinegar and olive oil

Exercise: 45 minutes Elliptical, 15 minutes strength training
