I’ll admit that I sort of fell off the blogging bandwagon a couple of days last week. Sometimes life gets so confounding that little things like blogging fall by the wayside. The shame being that I actually ate fairly well. A wasted healthy blogging experience.
Of course all that healthy eating was soon counteracted by celebrating my Dad’s birthday!!!! I went out to visit my family on Thursday night, right up until a few hours ago. My dad is turning a dapper (insert random age here), and if there’s one thing my family loves it’s birthdays. So, yeah, I ate out a lot, because birthdays aren’t just one day, they’re an entire mass of days. I also took my dad out to a Long Island Ducks (minor league baseball) game on Saturday where we had his name plastered on the scoreboard, we also had him sung to by approximately 3 separate sets of waitstaff at varying restaurants. We’re big on embarrassment where I come from. If you can’t embarrass the people you love most in the world, who can you embarrass. That was one part of his present, I also bought him a hat at the game, and every year I buy him a variety of foreign beers. This year the countries represented in ale-form were Belgium, Japan, Latvia, and Scottland.
I always love going home, but I love coming back too. I had a girlie outing with a dear friend, where we had just about the most delicious fro yo on the planet. It’s called monstersomethingorothereth, okay it’s not called that but I can’t remember what it is called.
This is my last week before I start my new jobby-job. I want to say I’m going to spend it running around being wild, but in reality, I’m still shopping for a new roommate, all four of the people I offered the room opening up in my apartment to ended up passing. I find that all very strange as my apartment is actually quite nice. So, more apartment showing this week.
I have been toying with the idea of living alone; if I don’t find someone I actually like this round, I think I’ll convert the spare room into an office. I just really want to save some money. Before I lost my jobs, back in December(!!!-I can’t believe it’s been that long), I had been putting a lot of money in savings toward one day buying a condo or co-op. That savings has dwindled quite a bit, and I’d like to replenish it now that I’ll have a reliable income again, even if that does mean no walking around naked and having a guest room.
Oooh, but walking around naked does sound like fun.
Mmm. Mmm. Good. A Mom made breakfast.
Two eggs with potato bread toast
Smoothie with soy milk, chocolate protein powder and banana
Plain fro yo with mango and kiwi
Udon Noodle soup with shrimp and bok choy.
