Things that I’m really good at:

  • Baking cookies
  • Keeping in touch
  • Telling when a cantaloupe is ripe
  • Typing and holding a conversation at the same time

Things I’m not so hot at:

  • Re-formatting website themes.

I spent about seven hours in a cafe doing very menial tasks today in order to make this site functional.  I’m not sure I’m there yet, but it’s a start.  The major issue I’m running into right now is the fact that the RSS feed address seems to be different.  There are quite a few of you that read via RSS readers like Google Reader and Bloglines and it looks like those of you probably wont ever see this blog.  Unless of course you notice an uncharacteristically long lapse in blogging and decide to scope out the website.

So here are some FYIs:

  1. www.thekimchallenge.wordpress.com will no longer be updated, everything has been redirected to www.thekimchallenge.com.
  2. I’m still working a few kinks out on this site, so bear with me.  Sorry for an inconvenience.
  3. Just a reminder that if you read through an RSS feed, please note the change in feed address.

The old feed was: http://thekimchallenge.com/feed/

The new feed is: http://thekimchallenge.com/?feed=rss2

Okey-dokey, that’s enough with dry technical stuff.  This weekend was McCrazy!  For starters I got Bat Mitzvah’d.  That’s something I should have done when I was 12 but being fairly non-religious in upbringing never really came about.  The organization that sent me to Israel earlier this year also offers all these really neat learning opportunities (all with a Jewish bent) and one of those was an adult Bat Mitzvah program.  The thing that most excited me about this is opportunity is that there are free Hebrew classes involved.  I’ve mentioned that I’ve always wanted to learn a second language and this seemed like a great opportunity to do so.  There’s something much more engaging about learning as an adult, when you’re out of school.  It really makes you appreciate the process much more.  So, class ended (but Hebrew class resumes in September, and get this IT’S STILL FREE!!!)  and in its culmination I was Bat Mitvah’d.

To celebrate my finally becoming a woman I threw myself the Bat Mitzvah party that wasn’t…oh, so many years ago.  I had two things this time that I didn’t back then: boobs and access to liquor.

Here are some pictures from my Bat Mitzvah BBQ (my boobs were awesome!) and the ceremony that followed the next day:

Feel free to ignore the guys on either side (they're friends of mine), can we discuss how awesome my boobs looked?

Okay, so maybe I shouldn’t be this obsessed with my own boobs, but I figure I’ve only got a few good years of pert boobage left.

Here’s the actual day of the Bat Mitzvah which I tried to dress slightly less boobtastic for.

Amazingly, the same people I hung out with when I should have been doing this at 12, are still the same people I consider my nearest & dearest.

Well the weekend was fun, but now the only food left in my house is hot dogs, hamburgers and mayonaise laden salads.  I’m going to try and make grocery shopping a priority tomorrow.  A girl cannot, and really doesn’t want to, live on cured meat alone.  Here’s the food rundown for today:

Breakfast

Bagel w/cream cheese.
I got so caught up in blog formatting I forgot to take a picture.  Whoops.

Lunch

SD532911

Two hot dogs, buns, potato salad
Honestly, right about now I’d kill for a garden salad.

Dinner

SD532913

Tom Yum Soup

SD532914

Red curry w/shrimp and white rice

I met up with a friend for a long walk (from lower Manhattan to mid-town) and dinner.  I love Thai food, but I think I’m going to try and balance today’s indulgences out by eating a bit lighter tomorrow.  My tummy is feeling a bit mad at me right now.
