My horoscope for the day says: “You have a healthy perspective on what you must do in order to be declared a hero at work.”  Oh, that’s good, I’m glad.   I guess that would mean working, since yesterday I didn’t get much done.  I spoke with one of the powers that be at CBS yesterday and they pretty much gave me free reign to write about anything; that certainly frees things up a bit.

Yesterday was a lot of fun, and it was great to see my family.  I didn’t take pictures, but here’s a rundown of what was served: brisket, turkey, a sweet kugal, a savory kugal, a vegetable medley with asparagus, mushrooms and chard, and a potato/carrot dish.  For dessert there was some cake, and marshmallow twists, jelly rings, cookies and macaroons.  I didn’t eat too much, which is new for me, and was even hungry by the time I got home.  I had a cheese stick and went to bed (in the spirit of not taking pictures my cheese stick will not be making it’s Internet debut, but it was indeed a stick made of cheese.)  In addition to eating we watched old (and I mean old) home movies which basically consisted of every birthday my mom had between the ages one and 15.  It was very cute, but I think it scared my dad a little.

Heather: You were missed, and talked about.   It was indeed quite the abbreviated Seder which I think was just fine by everyone. 🙂  Hopefully we’ll get to catch up one of these days; I’ll let you know if I’m ever in DC.

I really do need to start working if I’d like to do nice things like pay rent and buy overpriced organic food, so I’ll keep today’s post pretty brief.  Come 12:30 I’ll hit the gym for an hour of spin and a half hour of abs and then back to the coal mines of my couch for me.

Smoothie made with 1 cup of low fat kefir and 1 cup frozen fruit (1/2 cup mango, 1/2 cup mixed berries)

Alrighty, back to work with me…
