I apparently bring terrible weather with me wherever I go.  As soon as our plane landed in Israel the torrential down pouring began and lasted the entirety of my trip and as soon as my plane landed in New York last night the worst snow storm of the winter started.    It’s really terrible out but I needed to venture to the grocery store today as I had no food left in my fridge or pantry.  I sustained on frozen pinepple and oatmeal for breakfast but knew there would be nothing left to sustain me come lunch and dinner.  Walking to the grocery store was a comedy of errors.  The wind is insane and the snow is very heavy.  Once I arrived I realized there would be know way I could get back carrying food, so I’m having my purchases delivered.  Hopefully they come soon.  I’m getting hungry.

It feels good to be home, but slightly overwhelming, I have to write 30-pages of text before my class tomorrow which will mean very little sleep.  I’m also sad to see all my new friends go, especially my roommates and the Israeli soldiers I got to know while I was there.  They were all so wonderful.

In the meantime, my mission is to get my body back in shape and un-bloated.  I think I’ll spend the next month solely vegetarian.  Whenever my body feels off in anyway I cut out meat and somehow that helps me find an equilibrium.  I can’t wait to hit the gym, but having ventured out this morning, I won’t be trying that again till tomorrow.  An exercise DVD will have to suffice till I feel safe in coming out of hibernation.

Oatmeal with lite sour cream
