Woohoo, I finished the detox and I feel really good and all sorts of clean and functional on the inside.  The best part-it wasn’t hard to stick to and it wasn’t extreme.  I’m down 5lbs as of this morning-a very nice side effect, I must say.  I’m down to my pre-holiday weight, which is pretty much where I like to stay-so here’s to a consistent 2009!

My first call of action today will be to go to a cafe and get a really good cup of coffee and sit and savor every drop of it.  I tried making a cup this morning but it just wasn’t everything I hoped it would be, and a week without caffeine deserves a perfect cup of coffee to culminate it.  Then I’ll hit the gym and get some work done.  I must say that I’m a bit scared of the gym because it’s a holiday.  Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!  And for some reason people really like to take up space at the gym on holidays.

AmDog: Thanks so much for the camera tips!  My camera is old and on the cheap side.  A new camera with all sorts of magical pixels that I can take pretty pictures with, will be my present to myself when I find a new place to call my office.

Jenny: Thank you!  You’re going to think this is crazy-but the book isn’t about food.  Well at least not the first book.  It’s a how to guide for grown up friendships.  The second book, however, will be about food and body image.  A girl has to keep busy 😉

Lara: I think the real version of the detox can be found on the Body+Soul website, I however sort of made up my own rules. I think any version of clean eating would have the same effect.  I think I sort of go into each day expecting to eat a clean healthy diet.  Then life happens-this was just a conscious effort to cut the impurities out of my diet.

Kat: Yes, they’re seasoned.  I cooked them up with some onions and mushrooms, two cans of tomato pure tomato sauce, garlic, cumin and paprika.  They were good-except after a week of them I must say it got a bit on the boring side.

Since I’m heading to Chicago on Thursday, and heading out to Long Island on Wednesday night, I think it would be a bit silly to go grocery shopping, so I’ll make do with what I have in the fridge, freezer and pantry.  Should make for some interesting combinations.

Lowfat plain yogurt with honey and walnuts
