I got up this morning and did something I haven’t done in what seems like forever…I ran.  It was a little rough, but I got through it.  My muscles feel like they’ve completely atrophied so instead of doing strength training at the gym today, I’m going to do a yoga DVD tonight to ease my lazy muscles back into functioning.  Unfortunately my weekly exercise schedule has been derailed due to my gym canceling all group fitness classes through January 4th.  Looks like I’ll have to improvise. Perhaps hit up some DVDs and explore new areas of the gym.

I got on the scale this morning against my better judgment (I had resolved not to go on till March, because I was scared of what the findings might be), and honestly it wasn’t that bad.  I’ve gained a couple of pounds but honestly nothing that won’t disappear with a few weeks of solid exercise and healthy eating.

Speaking of eating…My aunt and uncle are coming out tonight to take me out for my birthday.  We’re going to a great Peruvian restaurant in my neighborhood.  They have great yuca fries, but I’ve resolved not to get them, as this past week has me at my junk food quota for 2008.  I’ll take pictures no worries.  It’s actually a relief to be back in Brooklyn and back to blogging.  And, this is my first real day of unemployment.  Well, last week was but it was the holidays so it didn’t feel like it.  So far so good.  I’ve been cleaning my apartment, going through my closets and got to the gym.  I could get used to this. 😉
