To Isabella: I’m so glad you find the blog helpful and congratulations on your upcoming wedding. In response to your question about the mashed cauliflower, I wouldn’t say that it tastes exactly like mashed potatoes, because it isn’t mashed potatoes. But, the similarity is uncanny, and the caloric difference is pretty amazing. I say it’s worth a shot-you can also use a blender to puree if you don’t have a food processor-I meant to write that yesterday but forgot to. As for my weight: I’ve stayed at a pretty constant 136 for a while no. So, I guess that would mean I’m maintaining. I hope this helps.

Meanwhile…

It’s the last day of July. I can’t believe how quickly the summer has flown by. I do sort of wish I had taken some vacation time from ye olde office job. I never think of taking time off unless I’m actually going somewhere, but some down time would be nice. Every so often I get this itch to just hop on a plane/train/bus to anywhere and just figure it out once I get there. I don’t think that’s in the cards for me for a while though.

I had planned on some down time tonight, but a friend called and said she had been pretty down lately and would I come over to distract her tonight. You really can’t say no to that, can you? So, I have a feeling my evening will include some sort of candy, and perhaps a romantic comedy. Hopefully I’ll get home in time to do an exercise DVD-as I haven’t picked which one I’ll be reviewing on Elastic Waist next week yet, and I like to do them a few times before judging. Somehow I think that’s doubtful, but hope springs eternal.

Last night I ventured to the land of Springsteen and Bon Jovi. New Jersey honestly isn’t so hard to get to, it’s about 10 minutes from my office. I met up with two of my closest friends that will be leaving me in a couple of weeks to go back to the intellectual world of law school. Law School-shmaw school, stay here and play with me. It was a good night, we walked, talked, ate, walked and talked some more.
