My first ever blog on Elastic Waist was up yesterday.  I swear it was like giving birth.  I mean what I write here and on my other blog are mine, so I just sort of go with the flow, but writing for a blog that’s managed and run by other people is a lot of pressure.  I’ve been freaking out a bit.  I keep writing these long blogs, then deleting them.  I think with time it will become easier, I just need to get my feet wet and get used to the idea of writing deadlines.  I woke up at 4am to write before I planned the show for today. That’s just disgusting, no one should ever be awake at 4am.

I finally had a decent date!  This guy is very different from the other types of guys I’ve dated.  I tend to be attracted to super-smart, somewhat forlorn, emotionally needy yet unavailable men.  Umm, yeah, I’m not saying it’s ideal, I’m just saying that’s what I’m attracted to.  This guy is smart, but not in a “I’m going to show you how smart I am” kind of way and a total dude.  He actually reminded me more of the guys I grew up with who are still my friends today, I’ve never been attracted to them but they’re the kinds of guys I like to hang out with.  So, it’s summer time and the living is easy.  We had some drinks, easy conversation and eventually ordered dinner (which I’ll post below).  I’m not sure if there’s a spark (ugh, I hate all that cliche terminology, but there really is a lack for a better word), but he was fun and asked me out again and I’m willing to explore the possibilities.

Last Night’s Dinner

Spinach Quesadilla
Margarita

Now for today’s food. Really I should get an award for worlds most boring food blog.  I eat the same thing for breakfast and lunch almost every day.

Breakfast

Oatmeal with lite sour cream
banana
green tea

Lunch

Greek salad with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, calamata olives, feta and homemade vinaigrette
Nectarine
Grapefruit

I’m going to work out today, I’m just not sure what I’m going to do yet.

Dinner

I don’t eat meat very often, but I was craving beef today.  I think it may have something to do with my cycle.  It’s amazing how nature works, or how we can inadvertantly blame everything on nature if we try hard enough.
Grilled sirloin
whole wheat pasta with red pepper sauce
steamed summer squash

Instead of hitting the gym I took a 3 mile walk around the neighborhood.  It wasn’t exactly strenuous, but sometimes it’s nice to just be outdoors.
