40 Days!  Wow, I’m impressed with myself.  I’ve been getting a lot of comments on my weight loss (which is funny because I’m averaging about 4-5 lbs) lately.  I can’t say I’m 100% Self Challenge perfect, but I’m trying my hardest.  Well not this week, but most of the time.  I haven’t worked out at all this week, which is something I feel guilty about, but a friend of mine who is a runner said that the week before a marathon most runners take it easy.  I’m going to excuse my behavior with that mentality that I need to let my body rest so it will be ready to go come next Saturday.  I do plan on working out this weekend, it just happens to be a super hectic week for me.  So hectic that I still haven’t purchased food with which to nourish myself properly.  Alright, enough with the self-beratement.  I’m a firm believer in forgiving yourself, none of us are perfect and dwelling on the bad can only hold you back.  I’m making the best choices I can given my life.  Here are some of those choices. . .

Breakfast 4.04.08: Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes an O
breakfast 4.4
Honey Nut Cheerios (I picked them because they had the most fiber)
1% milk

Lunch 4.4.08: Veggies come in the most surprising places
lunch 4.4
Turkey and wild rice soup
Half a Portobella mushroom sandwich

This is my favorite deli sandwich.  I also don’t believe in getting too much meat based foods in a meal, so if the soup I’m eating has meat in it, I won’t have a sandwhich with meat.  So, this worked out perfectly.  The wild rice soup seemed like the most challenge friendly, because wild rice and turkey are both challenge friendly, and the sandwich was packed with vegetables (mushrooms, arugula, red pepper), so it seemed like a decent balance.

As for exercise, does running my mouth count?  Tonight I’m meeting up with some friends for dinner at Ruby Foos.  I plan on sticking to steamed dumplings, soup, and sushi; basically what seems like the lightest fare on the menu.  It’s almost the weekend which is a double-edged sword for me.  I have more time to exercise, but also go out a lot which can be quite the challenge in regard to eating.
