One of the things that I find hardest in balancing a healthy lifestyle and being young in the greatest city in the world is balancing my social life with my desire to treat my body with love and respect.  You may have noticed there was no dinner entry for last night, and that’s because dinner didn’t happen until 2am, and it wasn’t a challenge friendly item (it wasn’t unhealthy, but not on the list of approved foods).  “Going Out” and “Working Out” sounds very similar, if you ask me.  Same amount of syllables.   One helps you to have a lean toned physique the other involves drinking beer and dancing.  Same thing really.  Last night was a going out night as opposed to a working out night.  Dinner consisted of two bud lights (at least they were light) and a can of Campbell’s chicken noodle soup at 2am when I got home.  I must confess, had there been ramen soup I would have eaten ramen soup.  I’m pretty sure there was wedge of laughing cow cheese thrown in there somewhere.

This morning, I woke up, didn’ t have to shoot The Daily Special so I could sleep past 5am, and luckily my Friday morning Bikram yoga buddy bailed on our class, so I didn’t have to get up at 6am to contort myself in a 105 degree room.  Had she not bailed, I would have been there but resented every minute of it.  So, I slept till the late hour of 7am!  Got up, made coffee, that I actually drank and ate cereal.  Cereal I find to be a really therapeutic breakfast, it’s cold and crunchy, so it wakes me up and helps me get out any early morning aggression I might feel.

Breakfast 3.7.08: Close but no cigar
breakfast 3.5
Cereal and 1% milk

I didn’t brown bag it today.  (And, yes, I actually do put my lunch in a brown bag.  I have to, people steal food from the work fridge!) I’m thinking I’ll get a big salad for lunch, that sounds so awesome right now!

I’m not sure.  I’ll do something.  It’s supposed to be some sort of torrential down pour later, so perhaps I’ll just pick up where I left off and designate tonight as Jiggle Free Abs & Jiggle Free Arms night, SELF Strength challenge and perhaps some yoga.  I’m going to go running and take a Bikram class tomorrow morning.

The weekend is so close I can taste it, and yes, the weekend is SELF Challenge food list approved.
